Muzeu britanik ka shfaqur një koleksion të vjetër monedhash nga Butrinti, “Buthrotum” duke sqaruar se Butrinti është në Greqi, “Buthrotum Epirus Greece”.
Anëtari i këshillit shkencor të UNESCO-s, Auron Tare bëri me dije përmes një njoftimi në Facebook se pas letrës që ai i dërgoi muzeut, gabimi u korrigjua në “Buthrotum Epirus Albania”.
“Jam i lumtur të njoftoj vendimin e sotëm të Muzeut Britanik për të ndryshuar emrin e vendndodhjes së Butrintit nga Buthrotum Epirus Greece në Buthrotum Epirus Albania. Muzeu britanik reagoi shpejt pas një letre që i dërgova Drejtorit të Përgjithshëm mbi saktësinë e terminologjisë së përdorur për të përshkruar Butrintin si qytet grek,” – shkruan Tare.
I am glad to announce the decision today of the British Museum to change the location name of Butrint from Buthrotum Epirus Greece to Buthrotum Epirus Albania.
The British Museum reacted quickly after a letter I send to the General Director on the accuracy of terminology used to describe Butrint as a Greek City. Thanks to the Curator of the Department of Coins and Medals at the British Museum, Mr. Tom Hockenhull who responded with an accurate term by correctly located the origin of the coin collection coming from Butrint as Buthrotum, Epirus modern Albania.
